Curiosity
I looked at you,
And you looked at me back.
Were my eyes on the attack?
Did I scare you?
I cry in my heart
Just to hear you breathe,
Just to hear you speak,
And my name break the wind.
Did love ever race
Across that pretty little mind?
Did you ever think
We might be two of a kind?
I die and fall apart
When I don't hear you breathe,
When I don't hear you speak,
And my name doesn't break the wind.
I'm just a cat,
And the curiosity kills me:
Just a brain in a vat,
A vagabond a-drift at sea.
Call me by my name,
Let out a sigh of relief.
Say something, anything,
Or God, rest my soul.
So many tears,
They just count down the years.
I say it's a crime
That we've wasted so much time.
They consume all the mishaps,
And culminate with the plague.
It's been there, don't you see,
But you don't seem to agree.
I might as well digress.
