This is How You Live My Way August 25, 2006
I really thought I was a wise man.
I really thought I was an attention seeker.
I never thought it could go away.
I never thought I could lose this feeling.
This is how you live my way.
This is how I live everyday.
I used to think the day was light.
I used to think the sun came out at every dawn.
I never knew of any other way.
I never knew that sadness arrived and stayed.
This is how you live my way.
This is how I live everyday.
That was all the case, in fact,
Until I was locked up here in my mind,
Forced to squander hopes of a tomorrow yet to come.
I never thought as a school boy
That I'd be a poster child of utter anguish.
Pity me? Don't you worry,
For someday, it'll all come to pass.
I live in a cold vacuum devoid of a sense of feeling.
I live in a dungeon, wondering if you'll storm this Bastille.
If I were to lie awake, I'd die a POW.
If I were to sit still, I'd only age and grow decrepit,
But that seems to be my destiny,
And what would this hubris accomplish?
This is how you live my way.
This is how I live everyday.
This is my story, though many say there's hope.
This is my story, and I'm sticking to it.
This is how you live my way,
And this is how I live everyday.
