Lady Diamond

Lady Diamond

Lady Diamond, a symbol of sartorial elegance,
Flying in the wings of a dream.
Wealthy lady, hounded by press mongrels,
Under siege, and she just laughs because she's pleased.

Oh, but wouldn't you know that your cause
Don't mean a thing?
It's only mentioned on Page Eight.
Lady Diamond, dillitante lily in a field full of poppies.
She can intoxicate eyes with the best in bold.

Babies starve in Zimbabwe,
Human rights is an issue in China,
And yet the cameras roll on Lady Diamond
As she strolls the red carpet.
Delicate eyes must be a pawn
Greater than all the hungry souls abroad.
Don't you worry, though.
They'll soon die and slip away.
