A Sweet Long Lost Face Returns

A Sweet Long Lost Face Returns

A sweet long lost face returns
As a fog lifts during an August morn,
Radiant, beautiful, and absolutely breathtaking.
Images of long ago emerge,
Tears of the sublime descend,
And he can only wait so much longer
Until they finally touch and embrace again.

The hummingbirds sing a sonorous tune
Heralding the occasion
As a rooster crows in a new day.
Her golden locks and her priceless smile,
Her beautiful voice that can travel a mile,
And magnanimous spirit that ultimately breaks through,
Ultimately overcame every obstacle that ensued.

And the man, usually a nighthound by trade,
Watches from the sunrise on this day
As the lady of his dreams emerges in the flesh.
Holding out a sweaty right palm,
His heart skipping beats, failing to remain calm.
He seizes his beauty, as she does him,
And neither shall ever relinquish the other again.
