Tomorrow and Time

Tomorrow and Time          May 21, 2006 (Revised October 6, 2013)
Do you feel as do I?
The pain which shreds the soul asunder,
Shatters life as its porcelain,
Excruciatingly from its splendors?
Do you dream of a day yet arrived
When you slumber with thoughts
Of a posterity of wealth,
Or more than a penny jar,
Where the fruits of your imagination
May take flight towards Xanadu
And other Utopian parts hither?
What, pray tell, shall tomorrow bring
If not a chest filled of delightful claims?
Tomorrow and time, relative as they are,
With their secrets they maintain
And the gold they provide,
Shall bequeath to all of Life's awakened
That which breeds contentment
And a posterity so prosperous.
They keep one waiting
Upon his hands and feet
Just to peak at the gypsy
With her crystal ball so neat.
We hope to view Posterity's beacon
As a lighthouse on rocky shores,
Towards a brighter future,
And Life's grand tour.
Yet never shall we dread more
Viewing our souls in jeopardy,
Swallowed by a Black Hole,
Never again to be seen.
Whatever we do,
May the gods have mercy!
For tomorrow and time
Never guarantees to be sublime!

Do you ask always the unknown quantity,
And inquire of others what one shan't dare?
Do you wish to garner wisdom
For the rest of your days,
And should you really even posit a care?
Well, I am on the descent
Towards the bottom half,
As are the sands of the hourglass
And her command of our time.
Human efforts shall always manifest in vain,
As some stories are best left unraveled
Allowing life's mystery to fly away freely!
To fly freely, one must feel inclined
To allow the soul to run wild,
And never tame thy heart again!
