Just a Sinner February 23, 2013
Have you ever felt the pain?
Have you been up on The Cross?
Did you ever kiss The Child?
Do you know when the bleeding will stop?
Have you thought about your soul?
Have you apologized to your love?
Did you hear the pin drop,
And will it ever stop the rain?
So many questions,
And I don't have a clue.
Memories furl toward oblivion
While the saints march on.
What am I to do
When I am rendered to ashes?
Oh yes, what will I do
In the last moments 'til eternity?
Whatever am I to do?
I'm just a sinner, too.
Oh I'm a marked man,
So devilish in my thoughts.
Jesus says my pain will be gone
When I bleed my sins on The Cross.
Until then, all is lost as the day will be long.
Are you tired of feeling naughty?
Are you fearing another day?
Did you give your life to Jesus?
Did He ever tame the storm?
Will you be going to Heaven,
Or South to the pits of Hell?
Will you be a repentant sinner,
Or lying on hot coals?
So many questions,
So many replies,
And I want to know the truth
And be one with the doves.
So many memories
Of lust, greed and sloth,
I must be destined for an eternity
Pushing a boulder.
Whatever am I to do?
I'm just a sinner, too,
Reaping the "rewards" of what I have sewn.
Oh wouldn't I know my time is ticking?
Ticking away my own soul,
As I lay dying on the bed
When I should be repenting to save my soul....
