So Long As I Have You

So Long As I Have You                         July 27, 2011

I hardly know you,
And yet it seems
So long ago when we met.
When we crossed that bridge
Called Lover's Lane,
Two souls conjoined as one.
I don't care about
The rest of the world.
I don't care about this or that.
I don't care if the world is flat,
So long as I have you.

Now I can't tell the night from day
Now that you're by my side.
I can't tell you how the West was won
Other than we're two souls conjoined as one.
And now I digress to thee,
For you will get all my love from me
From now until well past two,
So long as I have you.

And the birds, the bees, the butterflies
Make me think it's going to be alright.
And the full moon caressing the midnight skies
And we make love beneath the stars.
You're my Southern pixie dancing in the shade
Of a Spanish moss tree during summer.
I'll be happy in life...so very happy in life
So long as I have you.
