To My New Found Love

To My New Found Love                      October 28, 2011

To my new found love,
I bid thee well -
A future full of smiles
And laughter in your midst.
To my new found love,
I only know you now.
You are so beautiful,
And I cannot believe
You are mine.

I wish I had known you
Before right now,
Back when God gave me
Such pains.
I wish I could reverse
The sands in the hour glass,
To reverse the curse
That time forgot to reveal....

To my new found love,
You own my heart.
You carry the knife
To either mold me or kill.
To my new found love,
When I'm old and gray,
I'll only be as feeble
As your proximity entails.

A blackened heart comes to life
Because of you.
A soul ignites and flourishes
From coldest night to daylight blue.
Oh love!  How can I express
What amorous tempest rumbles inside
For you?
If only you pity me;
I cannot hide my love anymore!

To my new found love,
The Father's gifted package.
I cannot despair anymore,
And I open the gift to behold.
To my new found love,
Death and taxes may be sure,
But I am willing to bet
Our love is set
For the many millennia to come.
