Prayer in the Sky October 23, 2012
A dove dives down with an olive branch in its talons.
I see light in the distance, though I at once fear it a ruse.
That light, o' sweet angel of my heart,
Pierces flesh and bone until all hope has been bequeathed
Into a black cauldron full of bright, white love.
Then, and only then, does my heart feel whole.
Lovers come and lovers go with great regularity,
But this one seems to be cemented into a firm foundation
So that I might be able to find a place in this world
Where I won't be so alone like the proverbial garden gnome.
Whatever the case, she is here, as am I,
For my prayer in the sky has landed, once and, ultimately, for all.
