Bloom on the Bayou June 26, 2006
Bloom, O' Bloom,
Bloom on the Bayou
From the dawn to the eve
Of the next day.
It looks so new to you, I know,
But if you look down deep into your soul,
O' Bloom, you'll find being a Cajun
Ain't all that bad.
Bloom, O' Bloom,
Eating crawdaddies and all, and look at you,
You're just sitting so high and pretty now.
Creole girls adore and glorify you
And make you king of the Mardi Gras strip,
And with every little trip,
You're finding that country road.
Bloom, O' Bloom,
Sailing down the gentle waves
Of the Queen's rippling, scintillating wake.
You are one with the heart of south Acadia
And sprayed and baptized with the spirit of France.
You are cleansed, given passage to be free.
