Millicent

Millicent                                                 May 3, 2006

I found a time, a place for us to meet,
For we as friends to gather and plot the world.
Instead, 'twas a lonely feeling and gathering.
Oh, how I cried because I was alone.

I thought we were friends, but you disagreed.
Now, I'm paying a hefty price for love long lost to see.
I got on my bullhorn, said, "Hey Millicent, are you home?"
But I got no answer at all, and how I cried because I was alone.

I went and wallowed in gray self-pity for days.
I thought this torture would simply never end.
The time dragged on and on for what seemed an eternity,
Until an elegant, yet sultry lady
Caught the interest of my keen eyes.
