Kate (Can't Get You Out of My Mind) March 1, 2006
I look up to that ragged, lanky man,
For he has brought the rebel out in me.
I look up to Big Bad Tom,
Because he sparked my creativity.
There are so many things I can say
About those who played a role
In molding the person that is now me.
There's a mix of them all in my soul,
And then there's you, Kate.
I can't get you out of my mind.
If love can be credited, then I'll speak true,
For my love just continues to shine on through
Because of you, sweetest Kate.
I just know you'll feel relieved
That someone you graced appreciates you
With all of his heart.
Again, I will say to you,
I can't get you out of my mind.
I love you.
That much is true.
I can't say how much for one good reason
Because that wouldn't do it enough justice.
Love is a thing that really can't be measured
Except for in the random acts it displays.
I'd walk a hundred miles or more
Just to hold your hand or kiss your lips.
Kate, there's nothing I wouldn't want to do
To please you, to please you this day
And forever more.
Kate, don't ever float away.
Kate, don't ever let go of my hand.
Kate, I say this in the most genuine of ways,
So know that this is true:
Don't you ever dare fade away.
I went for many years without love
Until I met the likes of you.
I shed many Crocodile-sized tears,
My luck ran far and so very few
Through those dark, dark years.
Then Kate, you came along at the right time
When I most needed another savior in my life.
There's Jesus, of course,
But sometimes, Earth needs to help out some, too.
What I got was you, Kate.
I can't get you off of my mind.
Kate, don't ever leave me high and dry,
For if you do, I'd never live to see the sun rise again.
Kate, don't ever stop giving me peace of mind,
For if you do, I think I might just go berserk.
Together, we'll age finer than the best vintage wine,
And make beautiful music together.
Kate, I love you so,
So don't ever have any doubts,
For as it stands, I can't get you out of my mind.
