As Death Has It

As Death Has It                             October 24, 2011

As death has it,
There is no light to the day.
There is no relief from the storm
As the lightning rips you to shreds.
And, as death has it,
Life is so uncouth.
Oh won't you conform
To its truth?

As death has it,
Hope fades into the night.
A chill ravages the air
As a fish flops on ice.
And, as death has it,
A mask will hide the face,
The pain, the anguish it shows.
Oh, do you not see Despondence's growth?

O'! It is one strike past the witching hour.
Time to unlock the heart to set you free.
Pins and needles pierce your lungs so hard,
It is difficult to breathe in a nihilistic paradise.

As death has it,
There is to be no pain;
No time like the present
To really see or hear.
And, as death has it,
You wish to see some messengers.
What if there are devils?
Will they carry you away?
