That's How Things Go

That's How Things Go

Walking on my sea legs away from the sea,
A fish in my right palm and in my other, some tea.
Life just swims from current to current,
And I don't think I'll ever keep up,
For that's how things go.

Lovers quarrel and an idiot hurls,
All this world's insane because it goes against the grain.
All I can do is tell the yahoos to get bent,
For that's how things go.

Life is like a whore leaving church,
All sweaty and hot, no purpose, just fucking,
But God said no, and to her, business won't be good.
Some angry granny is on her perch,
Lurking her eyes, life just sucking,
Because she struck a match, burnt some wood,
And you know, that's how things go.

The last bit absolutely made no sense,
And it might have even been a little bit intense.
If that be true, please don't sue,
For that's how things go.

And so it is....
