Time is the Essence of the Mind

Time is the Essence of the Mind                             February 17, 2010

Wasting precious time is so easy
When you know there is something else to do.
I never knew, oh, I never knew before,
That time could be so precious,
And I say, Lord,
Wasting precious time is so pernicious
When you want, no, have to get things done.
I never knew, oh, I never knew before,
That time could be so precious,
And I say, Lord:

Time never stood still for anyone,
No, not even a second,
Time never gave me no accord.
I never knew, oh, I never knew before,
That time is the essence of the mind.

There was once this lover,
Her name is superfluous,
Could be anyone, and yet, not so.
There was once this lover,
Her name brings superstition,
Open her up,
She'll bring Pandora's surprise,
And I say, Lord:

Time never stood still for anyone,
No, not even a second,
Time never gave me no accord,
I never knew, oh, I never knew before,
That time is the essence of the mind.

Could you say this was all a big reach
At sparking a little creativity?
Could you say this was all something
Attempting to scan the fragments of my mind?
I never knew, oh, I never knew before,
That time is the essence of the mind.
Oh well, at least I wrote a poem about time.
