Blades from the Sky August 25, 2009
Wanderers down below,
They don't know
Of the eternal strife in the sky,
How life isn't a slice of pie,
And oh, these unconscious souls,
They don't know
That life isn't a board game,
Where the kiddies rule supreme.
A tempestuous nature,
Heaven a-blaze,
Heaven's fury falls
Like blades from the sky.
Sullen creatures we are fated to be,
And waters rise like a restless sea,
Mark the days of the rest of our lives.
Like climaxing lovers getting it wrong,
Heaven seems to gestate
All contempt for its legions on Earth.
Like whirling dervishes and restless legs,
Heaven spares no punches,
No ties to the peace,
Only oblique vestiges
As the wet blades come crashing down.
A tempestuous nature,
Heaven's a-blaze,
Heaven's fury falls
Like blades from the sky.
Sullen creatures we are fated to be,
And waters rise like a restless sea,
Mark the days of the rest of our lives.
