Heartbreaker

Heartbreaker                              September 18, 2010

Step into her world
Where the wind blows her way at will,
Try to walk a mile in her skin,
And she'll go for the kill.
You never know until you've quarrled
Whether you'll lose or you'll win,
But she's a foxy one, that woman;
She don't want me for any fun.

She's a real heartbreaker,
She's just a real trip.
She's a real heartbreaker,
And she's got me in her grip.
I wake up to see things
As they may or as they are.
She's a real heartbreaker,
She'd as soon hit me with a car.

She's a foxy lady,
She's always sniffing for her prey,
Always keeping in mind
Love's as cheap as a dollar-five.
She's a red hot mama,
Always smokin' up the joint,
Looking for wienies like me
To crush their wildest dreams...

She's a real heartbreaker,
She's just a real trip.
She's a real heartbreaker,
And she's got me in her grip.
I wake up to see things
As they may or as they are.
She's a real heartbreaker;
She'd as soon hit me with a car.

I'm hung up on her,
And the feelings are real,
But when I have said things,
She kicked me out to the curve.
I have tried the soft approach,
And then got a little caliente,
But she never did see things
The way I've always hoped.

You took away my everything,
You mean woman, you.
Took away my dignity,
My strength, courage, my spine.
I thought I could sing the blues
A mean time or two,
But now, this old coon dog
Is suffering from the amorous flu...

She's a real heartbreaker,
She's just a real trip.
She's a real heartbreaker,
And she's got me in her grip.
I wake up to see things
As they may or as they are.
She's a real heartbreaker;
She'd as soon hit me with a car.

Now, I can see why men turn cold.
Frankly, it seems that we are rebuffed if we're bold.
Now I can see why I rarely ask.
Women like to rip us apart
And leave us for the vultures to snack.
But despite all that, I'm infatuated so.
I'll continue to bid for her love
Until The Lord calls me from up above....
