If I Were to Die Tonight

If I Were to Die Tonight                                October 2, 2010

If I were to die tonight,
Would it cause a ripple?
Would it be a blip
On your precious radar?
If I were to die tonight,
Would it cause you pain,
Or would I be like another fish
In the oceanic sea?

Seems like through all the years,
And there have been many of them, in fact,
All you do is whine and complain.
Seems like through the sands of time,
Through expenditures of pennies, nickels, and dimes,
You threw me around like a cheap suit in the rain.

What more can I do?
What more can I say?
I just gotta know
If it's love or if it's control.
Baby, please tell me
The truth as it is so.
Please tell me you don't hate me,
Or my world will spin out of control.

If I were to die tonight,
Would it cause a ripple?
Would it be a blip
On your precious radar?
If I were to die tonight,
Would it cause you great pain,
Or would I be like another fish
In the oceanic sea?

All that loving I have given
And all that money I have spent -
You can never say I haven't tried.
And baby, I still love you so,
And I will on and on until the wolves howl.
You can never say I never tried,
And I'll keep on trying till I die.
Baby, that's a promise I'll make onto the sky.

I'm a firm believer
That love is all you need,
That the love you take is equal
To the love you make.
Lennon and McCartney made right,
And their words led to love-filled nights,
But sadly, their lyrics have skipped over us.

If I were to die tonight,
Would it cause a ripple?
Would it be a blip
On your precious radar?
If I were to die tonight,
Would it cause you great pain,
Or would I be like another fish
In the oceanic sea?
