Rapture

Rapture                                                                January 4, 2007

The sun begins to shine
Upon all the woeful and the cold,
And all you can see are smiles abound
Day after day, from now unto the coming tomorrows
For the oppressed and the heavily burdened.
There is hope for those who shy away
From glaring eyes and vitriolic mouths.
There is a place in this world far away from pain.
All you have to do is believe in rapture.

Everywhere I walk, I see the feeble wretches melt away
From the rays and grasp of Ra's wrath,
Miserable folk who once spread that pestilence called hate
Who are now forced-fed the greater good known as love.
These same creatures raise their hands to me,
Begging for scraps of nourishment for their wasting beings,
But all I say to them is that Aphrodite hath no sympathy
In the cases of the wicked who hath operated here before,
Not until such mongrels reach out for rapture for all time.

Now, I know you feel the vibes, too,
Where the winds which once blew East
Now follow Westward.
I hear that you are quaking in your boots,
Tremoring with each step you take,
And fear the glare of the unprecedented
Will blind you to an old truth now decaying
In the pages of history's texts.
Fear not, my friends, for you are now vindicated,
No need for want of xenophobia
Or the pertitioning of border walls throughout the world.
What once was microcosmic is now macro
Because you are now opening your eyes and hearts to rapture.
